PCS Latest News - Urgent Update

After the e-mail went out on Friday there were a number of PCS bulletins issued. Please bring yourselves up to date, make your colleagues aware and ask them to join PCS if they are not currently a member.

Jobcentres

As reported last week, Leicester city Jobcentres will not be opening due to the local lockdown. For all other Jobcentres see the bulletins here for information about further opening, volunteering to work on front line, and the legal position in health and safety law. Any further bulletins will appear on this link.

Covid-19

PCS are hearing reports of a potential case and are trying to ensure that the correct procedures have been followed. If you hear of a colleague who is undergoing a test or you are being tested yourself please inform your manager immediately and also your PCS rep if you are able to do so.

Pay

With everything else going on pay seems to have slipped down the agenda. PCS have rejected the pay offer (see here) but DWP is imposing it anyway (see here).

Contacting PCS

If you have any questions raised by anything in this e-mail, or anything else, please contact your local rep or reply to this e-mail.

If you need representation please follow the instructions on the branch blog, here. DO NOT send anything to PCS LEGAL or directly to me as this will slow down your case.

Chris Willars
Branch Secretary PCS DWP Leicestershire Branch
