Civil Service Compensation Scheme

The votes are in and the fightback starts here.

The union will be out on strike on 8 and 9 March, not just Jobcentre Plus but the Pensions Centre too, not just DWP but HMRC, MOD, MOJ, Land Registry & all the other government departments throughout the UK.

We are hoping to hold a rally on 8 March at the Notts Oddfellows Club on Humberstone Gate in Leicester. I'll let you know the details when I have them, but it will be after picket duty.

Please read the PCS web site for the counter arguments to the management propaganda. They can put out their stuff on the intranet but if PCS tried to put our side or used e-mail to put our case then reps would be disciplined.

If you have any questions please add a comment to this post and I will try and reply.

See you all at the rally.

  1. So we have had the predictable message from Leigh Lewis. In my experience, such messages just wind people up. We get a cursory two lines at Christmas thanking us for all our hard work (big deal!), but a barrage of propaganda from the guy when members have expressed their democratic will. Come 8 and 9 March members will have to make up their minds where they stand; with Lewis and the Government who want to steal thousands of pounds out of our pockets or with their union fighting to protect our hard won contractual rights.
All the rubbish the Government are spouting about our ballot result. Dangerous ground for a Government elected by a minority of voters. By the same token, can we now start saying that we won't pay taxes or obey anti-trade union laws. I think they'll change their tune then!We have the best chance in years to make our action tell and get positive results. The Government cannot surely want massive industrial action going on as they declare the date of the general election. If the polls are correct and we are heading for a hung parliament, no party wants to come to power against a background of incredible turmoil. All out on 8 and 9 March, don't give management the chance to proclaim 'business as usual',
